Gregory R. Ciottone, MD, FACEP, FFSEM, is a Medical Director, Paramedic, EMT, and Master in Health Emergency Management at Anna Maria College. He is an associate professor of emergency medicine and a leader in disaster medicine and emergency management. Dr. Ciottone has extensive experience in disaster medicine education, fieldwork, and research, and has held significant roles such as director of the Division of Disaster Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and director of the Disaster Medicine Fellowship Program. He has also served as president of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine and is the editor-in-chief of the leading textbook Ciottone’s Disaster Medicine. Dr. Ciottone has consulted for several U.S. federal agencies, including the State Department, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the White House Medical Unit. His career includes notable achievements such as recognition by the Physician to the President for outstanding support to the White House Medical Unit, receiving the Disaster Medical Sciences Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Academy of Disaster Medicine Distinguished Service Award.
