Rohin Sharma is the senior Middle East/Terrorism Analyst at the US Army. He is responsible for briefing senior Army leadership, including the Chief of Staff, on issues relevant to current operations in the CENTCOM region. He coordinates open-source and intelligence information to keep Army equities informed about threats and situations related to ISIS, Al Qaeda, and broader Middle Eastern trends.Previously, Rohin worked at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), analyzing threats and assessing vulnerabilities related to Weapons of Mass Destruction and nuclear proliferation. He also served as an analyst with the Department of Defense, focusing specifically on the IED problem set, where he integrated academia, industry, and the intelligence community to counter this threat. He gained recognition as a subject matter expert and briefed at numerous conferences, meetings, and congressional forums.Rohin served seven years on active duty in the US Army as an intelligence officer. He deployed to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as a Battalion S-2 with the 101st Airborne Division and was a J2 planner during OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM from 2003 to 2004. Additionally, he served as a ground surveillance platoon leader in the Republic of Korea in 2001.He holds a master's degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University and a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University. Rohin is also an adjunct professor at George Washington University.
